The CMEA Peer Mentor Program helps first-year and transfer students ease the transition into the Georgetown University community. Students are offered the opportunity to be paired with an upper-class student who is available to help in many of ways.

The program has three key components:
• One on one guidance and support of entering first-year and transfer students
• Team building and leadership development among the mentors.
• Group activities among the mentors and mentees.
Want to become a Mentee?
Students can request a mentor at the Pangaea program during New Student Orientation or by contacting the Center for Multicultural Equity and Access. First-year and transfer students are eligible to request a peer mentor anytime throughout the academic year. Meet our 2012-2013 Peer Mentors here!
What does a Peer Mentor do?
Peer Mentors support new students academically and socially by meeting individually and in groups, reaching out via email and text, and generally keeping track of how they are adjusting to campus life and being away from home.
The CMEA Peer mentoring program plans monthly programs and workshops to aid students in areas such as academics, stress and time management, living in the residence halls, navigating campus resources and much more.
Some examples of programs and workshops are
• Pre-Registration
• Resume Building
• Game Night
• Academic Major’s Panel
Peer Mentors participate in the CMEA Leadership Retreat over a weekend in September, bonding with one another, fellow student leaders and CMEA staff in order to build a support network that benefits themselves as well as their mentees.
