Walk-in Counseling Services

CMEA provides both walk-in and scheduled counseling appointments through email with Dr. John Wright, a licensed psychologist who works full time in the department of Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS). Dr. Wright is in CMEA on Thursdays & Fridays from 10am-5pm.

During the COVID-19 crisis Dr. Wright’s hours for seeing CMEA affiliated students has been expanded. Students can be seen for counseling related services (consultation, triage, assessment, referrals, and short-term counseling), Monday-Thursday, between the hours of 10 am – 4 pm and Friday between the hours of 10 am – 3 pm. Ongoing tele-mental health counseling in the summer is provided to students enrolled in summer courses (includes incoming Community Scholars) and reside in states where Dr. Wright is permitted to practice. Other students are eligible for all other services throughout the summer. Please contact Dr. Wright directly at jcw57@georgetown.edu (new window) to make an appointment.
