Academic Resources
The Elizabeth Ash Velez Book Co-Op Library
The Book Co-Op began as a means of alleviating students of financial burdens. CMEA encourages students in need to borrow from the Co-Op. With the generous donations by other students of additional used textbooks, the Co-Op has grown into a viable alternative resource for course textbooks. The Book Co-Op opens the first day of classes each semester. Students may check books at the beginning of the semester and return it at the end of the semester, free of charge.
Book Loan Scholarship
Students demonstrating financial need may submit an application for a book loan scholarship. If approved, CMEA will purchase the book(s) on behalf of the student. The student will be able to use for the full semester, returning the book(s) to CMEA at the end of the semester as these books become a part of the Book Co-Op Library.
Low-Cost Printing, Copying, and Faxing
CMEA offers printing, copying and faxing services. Students may purchase a print card for $25 per semester and have access to CMEA’s computers and printer to print up to 25 pages a day for the semester. Copying is available to students — simply bring your original source by the front desk and an intern will be able to assist you. Small quantity copying is also available to students. Contact CMEA at least 48 hours in advance for small quantity copying. Faxing is also available — bring your document and an intern will assist you.
Summer Housing Scholarship
For students demonstrating both high financial need and necessity to take a summer course, CMEA offers a limited number of summer housing scholarships for Session 1, 2, or both sessions. Applications for summer housing are usually available at the end of March in the Spring semester.
