Timothy Esau

Graduate Assistant

Timothy Esau, from Portland, Oregon, is a 1st year graduate student pursuing a Master’s in Global, International, and Comparative History, focusing on Indian Ocean history. With a BBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Timothy is passionate about the ideals of inclusivity (particularly educational), multiculturalism and internationalism. As a Graduate Assistant, he hopes to build an environment at Georgetown which is conducive to these ideals.  With his free time, he goes to the gym, reads about international politics/history, studies Arabic (and its calligraphy), cooks, and participates in Cybersecurity competitions.

Aliya Perkins

Graduate Assistant

Aliya Perkins is a second-year graduate student in Georgetown University’s Master’s in Sports Industry Management program and currently serves as a Graduate Assistant with Georgetown Football. Originally from West Orange, New Jersey, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Howard University. Aliya’s professional interests include sports law, athlete advocacy, legal policy, governance, and community outreach. Through her experience in student leadership, graduate governance, and advocacy initiatives, she has served in multiple leadership roles focused on amplifying student voices, fostering inclusive communities, and supporting equity-focused programming. Passionate about bridging the gap between athletics, law, and education, Aliya plans to attend law school and hopes to create meaningful impact through service-driven leadership, advocacy, and public engagement within both higher education and the sports industry.

Bethany Griffin

Graduate Assistant

Bethany Griffin is a strategic communicator and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in sports. She earned her B.A. in Strategic Communications from Elon University and is currently pursuing her M.A. in Sports Industry Management at Georgetown University.

With a background in athletics marketing, operations, and community engagement. Bethany has worked across various roles, including senior resident assistant, coordinator for the center for race ethnicity diversity education, front desk attendant, and athletics marketing intern. She has experience in coordinating events, facilitating conversations with policymakers, and amplifying underrepresented voices in the sports industry.

Originally from Chicago, IL and now based in Washington, D.C., Bethany is passionate about the intersection of sports and society, particularly in advancing opportunities for marginalized communities. She is committed to leveraging storytelling and strategic outreach to drive meaningful change.

Tati Su

Graduate Assistant

Tati (they/she) is a second year English MA student and CMEA graduate assistant working with the Community Scholars Program. Born and raised in California, Tati studied English and Creative Writing at UC Berkeley before spending the next few years working in executive search and recruiting. Their research interests include contemporary American poetry, queer theory, race, and diaspora.

Nikaury Mateo (She/Her)

Undergraduate Intern

Major: English

Nikaury is a rising senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, and in Psychology major, minoring in English. She was a fellow CSP Scholar, works with Hoyas Connected as a facilitator, cheers on her fellow athlete Hoyas on the Georgetown Cheer Team. She loves Italian food, coffee, and reading – catch her at the office for a chat about any of it!

Grace Molla

Undergraduate Intern

Grace Molla, orginally from Northern Virginia, is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. She is honored and excited to work with the CMEA team to support the Georgetown community! In her free time, she enjoys poetry, reading, music, learning about new cultures and new languages.

Ese Okao

Undergraduate Intern

Ese is a Nigerian American student from New Jersey majoring in Neurobiology with a minor in Public Health at Georgetown University. As a student worker at CMEA, she is dedicated to uplifting underrepresented voices and supporting programming that builds inclusive, affirming spaces on campus. Passionate about health equity, advocacy, and creative expression, Ese brings a thoughtful and intersectional perspective to her work. Outside the classroom, she’s a visual artist who believes in the power of culture, community, and care to spark meaningful change.
