Total Hoya Readiness: Intro to Vocation and Excellence (T.H.R.I.V.E)

THRIVE is a week-long leadership program centered around acclimating to collegiate academics and resources, cultivating belonging, navigating campus life, and fostering community  prior to the start of the Fall semester. THRIVE or incoming first-year students, transfer students, and students who may have less exposure to college than their peers to experience campus life. By building caring academic communities , fostering self-awareness, and introducing students to campus and community resources, this program will affirm that their presence at Georgetown is a significant achievement deserving recognition and celebration!

THRIVE seeks to introduce students to academic and social support resources on-campus, as well as the wider D.C. community. This high impact pre-orientation program will provide students with tools, knowledge, and networks necessary to navigate the beginning of their collegiate journey with confidence. – Incoming students are selected each year to work closely with  undergraduate peer leaders to explore practical strategies for navigating Georgetown curricular and co-curricular offerings. The program also introduces students to essential academic resources, highlighting the school success strategies. This ensures participants can access and utilize these areas of support from the very start of their Georgetown journey.

THRIVE participants will also have the opportunity to meet on deans, faculty and staff who will accompany you through your time as a Hoya. You will also not only enjoy the sites and sounds of the Washington D.C. community, but also get to explore the Nation’s capital as a live learning resource.
