All Affinity Housing programs and activities are open to all Georgetown University students regardless of race, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or any other characteristic protected under University policy or applicable law.
The Black House
Over fifty years ago, Black students at Georgetown University staged a protest, resulting in the creation of the “Black House,” a dedicated space for students to gather. Today, the Black House continues to foster diversity and community through various programs and events, such as discussions, voter registration, and workshops.

In 2014, Hoya Latinx leaders organized the first university-sponsored Latinx Heritage Month, which led to the creation of Casa Latina, a dedicated space for Latinx students and their friends and allies to share their narratives and access resources. Today, Casa Latina continues to foster inclusivity and community through vital discussions and support for students at Georgetown.

Leaders in Education, Advocacy, & Dialogues (LEAD)
Leaders in Education, Advocacy & Dialogues (LEAD) is a peer education and leadership development program that fosters open dialogue about diversity and intersections of identity to build common ground across the Georgetown University community. LEADers are peer facilitators who promote interaction and dialogue among students with diverse social identities, exploring issues of inclusion, belonging, and social justice through dynamic workshops and discussions.

THRIVE is a week-long academic success program centered around acclimating to collegiate academics and resources, cultivating belonging, navigating campus life, and fostering community prior to the start of the Fall semester. THRIVE for incoming first-year students, transfer students, and students who may have less exposure to college than their peers to experience campus life. By building caring academic communities, fostering self-awareness, and introducing students to campus and community resources, this program will affirm that their presence at Georgetown is a significant achievement deserving recognition and celebration!

The Student of Color Alliance (SOCA) is a collaborative umbrella organization comprising representatives from various cultural organizations across campus. SOCA aims to unite students of color through collaborative programming, advocacy, and financial support, with member organizations including the African Society of Georgetown, Asian American Students Association, Black Student Alliance, La Casa Latina, and many more. If your student organization needs support for an event, program, or conference costs, you can request funding from SOCA.
